The work comprises of four pieces written for just intonation, using digital manipulation of short pieces of improvisations from the depths of artists hard-drive as samples to re-compose simple works built of four chords in just intonation. Rather than being fixed to a single key, one note from the previous chord becomes to key centre for the next chord, and becomes the root for the purposes of tuning the intervallic relationship in a just tuning. The work is slow and contemplative, focusing only on the evolving timbres of the source audio and the pure intervals which resonate together in a way that feels very physical. Each work is accompanied by a video work from the artist which are available on our website and included on the CDr.
